Returning to work Recent highlights: 1. This quote is from the CF:SLR 2021 research report (Creative Freelancers Shaping London's Recovery) by Fuel and Creative UK in collaboration with PiPA (Parents in Performing Arts) which makes recommendations for best practice to support the needs of freelance parents and carers.  2. The aim of the 'return to work' programme is to create free and evolving resources (made with the Creative Commons principle) to provide essential information and support for freelance parents and carers working across live performance - and for the people who employ them #biyro #instagood #travel #fun #summer More: https://biyro.com/blog/freelance/returning-to-work/

I reached my breaking point as a self-employed, single mom when my family recently got COVID-19. Parenting has only gotten harder after 2 years

I reached my breaking point as a self-employed, single mom when my family recently got COVID-19. Parenting has only gotten harder after 2 years Quick summary: 1. A job would have to pay me enough to justify putting my daughter in aftercare, but that does nothing to help my son, whose day care doesn't offer extended hours due to pandemic restrictions. 2. My daughter went into school on Monday and told everyone in her second-grade class, including the teacher, that I was dying of COVID-19 — I actually had very mild symptoms — and then proclaimed she had a sore throat. 3. I finally had time to walk my dog in the mornings, write during the day, and tutor after school on days my kids were at their dad's #biyro #miami #summer #travel #mother More: https://biyro.com/blog/freelance/i-reached-my-breaking-point-as-a-self-employed-single-mom-when-my-family-recently-got-covid-19-parenting-has-only-gotten-harder-after-2-years/
